Confirmation

The sacrament of Confirmation completes our initiation into the Church and is an important and exciting step for our young people as they become Christian adults. Through the preparation programme they journey together to explore their faith and the relevance of Jesus in their lives, and in doing so deepen their personal relationship with God. The programme culminates with the Confirmation Mass where they receive the power of the Holy Spirit and are invited to fully participate in the life of the church. 

Preparation for Confirmation

A team of experienced catechists organise our programme of three sessions, as well as a weekend retreat, which always proves an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all the participants.  As part of the programme our young people also get actively involved in the life the church, by assisting in an activity at Mass over a number of weeks. 

The Confirmation Preparation Programme runs from January to May in each year with application forms being distributed after Mass in the preceding autumn term. The Confirmation Mass normally takes place in June. Candidates for Confirmation must be in Year 9 at secondary school or older and must be baptised Catholics.
