Our Lady of Lourdes is a Fairtrade Parish and a LiveSimply Parish.
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) are representatives of the parishioners, and responsible for developing the parish mission and strategy, investigating, reflecting, and reaching conclusions about pastoral matters, and consulting with and making recommendations to the Parish Priest. Playing a pivotally important role within the parish, members using their God-given skills and talents will help drive the parish forward so it achieves its mission.
The opportunity to help make a difference is open to all adult parishioners. The Pastoral Council is formed of twelve representatives covering all age groups. Eight members, representing different areas of parish life, are chosen and appointed by the Parish Priest. Four have been appointed in the first year (2022) and an additional four will be appointed in the second year. The remaining four members are chosen by parishioners during a nomination and election process.
Elected and Appointed Members serve for a three-year term of office, meeting six times per year, commencing from the announcement of their appointment/election at the annual Open Parish Meeting (OPM), as follows:
Cycle 1 – Appointment of 4 new members by the Parish Priest and Election of 4 new members by Parishioners.
Cycle 2 – Appointment of 4 new members by the Parish Priest.
Cycle 3 – No Appointments/Elections.

The four elected members are: Sinead Dineen, Paul Holland, Marcia Davies and Michael Delaney.
Appointed by the Parish Priest are: Andrew Belderbos, Genevieve Cox, Michael Hessey and Anna Painter.
In addition to these eight, there are four, appointed, members from the previous PPC: Caroline Rosser-Smyth, Katie Metcalfe, Dominique Pesez and Jane Rose, who have one more year to serve.
Thanks are due to the previous members of the PPC, for this service to the parish, especially the Chair Eddie Gaynor, Vice Chair Mark Quigley
and Secretary Jon Newham.
Shortly, it is intended to publish photos and details about our 8 new members.
