Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II RIP

It is with sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We give thanks for her 70 years of service as we remember her and her family in our prayers.

In a statement Cardinal Vincent Nichols said,

“Even in my sorrow, shared with so many around the world, I am filled with an immense sense of gratitude for the gift to the world that has been the life of Queen Elizabeth II.

At this time, we pray for the repose of the soul of Her Majesty. We do so with confidence, because the Christian faith marked every day of her life and activity.”

On Thursday 8 September), the Cardinal will lead prayers for the repose of Her Majesty’s soul in Westminster Cathedral at 9pm. And on, Friday 9 September, he will celebrate a Requiem Mass in the Cathedral at 5.30pm.
